Field Trip to Bankhead, 3-11-2006

We had a great photo excursion to Bankhead last Saturday. About 15 people went along and witnessed outstanding scenery. It's hard to believe this beauty is so close and not many know about it. When you drive through the forest, the first thing you notice is all the dead, fallen trees, caused both by recent storms and non-native trees. This doesn't leave a good impression for those who are unaware of Alabama's treasures hidden inside.  But when you hike down to the canyons......
